Search positioned to boost wireless ad revenuesMay 26, 2006 Currently, search advertising is rapidly accelerating the growth of online marketing and this will drastically position mobile search to do the same for wireless ad revenues for some of the largest players in that segment. In April, mobile carriers experienced revenue increases of 8 percent on mobile search. CTRs (click-through rates) on mobile searches of 36 percent and a 4 percent increase in unique users are fueling revenue growth, with the average revenue per search increasing to $2.73. These numbers were released by JumpTap, a provider of mobile search technology. Analyzing the current trends in the mobile search segment, JumpTap said that the most queries were concentrated in the ringtone and adult content categories. The search categories that showed the fastest growth were TV programs, theme songs, weather and temperature and sports. Source: eMarketer
